Eligibility: NCHSAA Eligibility
Entries: “Invite” - by Invitation. “Open” – first 25 teams to confirm.
Entry Fee: Absolutely $0 for High School teams thanks
to great sponsors.
Course: The now classic Jackson Park double loop configuration. The course does contain a few short stretches of pavement. Regular racing flats or very short spikes are recommended.
Race Info: Please visit the Roberson web site (www.robersoncc.com) for updated race information throughout the summer.
T-shirts: Traditionally, we’ve been able to supply free T-shirts to all finishers. We’ll continue to supply free T-shirts if sponsorship money is available.
8-17-04
Update – Looks like we’ll have enough sponsorship money to supply T-shirts to
the first 90-100 finishers in each of the 4 races.
Parking: Henderson County Parks and Recreation officials are requesting we use the “main” parking area this year instead of the lot in front of the Parks and Rec. building. This gives us more space for the buses and close proximity to a picnic shelter reserved for our use. It also puts us close to restroom facilities that will be open for our use.
Directions: From Interstate 26 – Take exit 18 (highway 64). Go towards downtown Hendersonville. At the 7th light (just over 1.5 miles from I-26), take a left (there’s a small Jackson Park sign). Go 2 blocks and take another left (again, there will be a small sign). This takes you into the Park. See parking above.
For all teams in the “Open” races (planning to arrive at
Jackson Park after approximately 8:30 AM) and all teams arriving from the
South, please use the south entrance to Jackson Park so you won’t get caught in
traffic when the road is closed once racing begins. Directions are as follows:
From Interstate 26 – take exit 22 (Upward Road). Go towards Hendersonville/Flat Rock 1.4 miles. Take right at 176 (major intersection at Super Ingles). Go 1.4 miles. Take right on Glover Street (there are a couple of small, brown Jackson Park signs before this turn). Go 0.7 miles into South entrance of Jackson Park (note – Glover Street is a small, residential road).
8-17-04 Update – Interstate 26 Exits are in the process of
being re-numbered. However, the old numbers are still present.
Thanks: Tim Hopkin at Henderson County Parks and Recreation. Tim manages Jackson Park and is seeking this type of activity for the Park. He has been completely accommodating with the organization of this race. Jackson Park rocks!
The folks at Jus’ Running (Norman Blair) and the Asheville Track Club. Their joint sponsorship commitment (No entry fee and likely continued free T-shirts to finishers) is tremendous. This doesn’t happen anywhere else folks! Both organizations are eager to support our sport and jumped at the opportunity to sponsor this race. We can all return the favor supporting them.

2003 Girls Invite lead pack just prior to the 1 mile mark. Lindsay Nadolski (1123), Heather Goldstein (1205), and eventual winner Maggie Kovach (1193).
